The soul is made up of your emotions, mind and will.
Today we are zooming into the importance of renewing your mind.
When we are born again our mind is still filled with all the fleshly thoughts. These thoughts can hinder our walk with God. For example, if you doubt what God has said about you then how can you walk in it. And even when we try to renew our minds the enemy still tries to put thoughts in our minds. When you believe these thoughts, they become your reality. As we said last week it takes time for these thoughts to become your reality. What we also have to understand is that the enemy has time. Today he will put a thought in your mind and from time to time feed it to you. Then he will come back 3 years later and make you act on it. All this while, he has been watching you, waiting for when you are inconsistent or procrastinating.
The bible says that the devil came to steal, kill and destroy whereas Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). Jesus came so that we could have life and have it abundantly. The enemy is not only after you, he is after your legacy, your children (even unborn) and the word of God over your generation. So, let your mind be governed by the Spirit as it brings life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is death (Romans 8:6)
Behaviours begin in the mind and the mind is where spiritual transformations occur. You can develop your spirit through choices you make in your mind to be led by the Holy Spirit. The soul has one foot in the body and the other in your spirit. The soul receives information from the senses in the body and deposit them into your spirit. This is why it’s very important to renew your mind.
The Spirit is made up of your communion, intuition and conscience. The conscience is what says this is wrong. You know when you do something wrong and get that feeling like uhhh something is not right that’s the conscience kicking in. When you keep on repeating that sin, you burn your conscience to the point where you lie without feeling anything.
I feel like I can keep on going about this but in conclusion its important to renew your mind because it affects your spirit. When you renew your mind you can set your mind on things above (Colossians 3:1-3)
God bless you!
