Reflect and Give Thanks

The Hebrew word for thanksgiving in the bible is ‘ha-todah’ which comes from the root word ‘yadah’ which means intimacy. Actions of thanksgiving lead to intimacy with God. God gave us His son and showed us grace. Our response to this grace should be a life lived out of gratitude. Thank God for sending His Son to make a way for you to be closer to God.
The bible says to give thanks to God in everything for this is Gods will for us in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:18). This means we have to give thanks no matter the circumstance we are in.
As this year comes to an end, take time to give thanks to God for all He has done for you and brought you through. Focus on all the blessings in your life and give thanks. Be thankful even for the little things that we aren’t normally thankful for. Like being able to wiggle our toes. Thankful reflection might work its way into the way you live the year ahead.
When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed, When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done. – Count your blessings by Johnson Oatman, Jr
Have a wonderful time with your families and friends today! Have a wonderful Christmas and a lovely new year!

Grace be with you all!
